Middlebury When it comes to comedy, the National Theater of London is unbeatable. And if you live in Vermont and can’t travel to England to see a National Theater performance, why not bring England to Vermont?
That’s just what the Town Hall Theater in downtown Middlebury is doing with its large-screen H.D. broadcast of the British comedy stage play “She Stoops to Conquer” April 5.
“I think only talented English actors can do Restoration comedy the way it should be done,” said theater Executive Director Douglas Anderson. “The dialogue can be hilarious and positively breathtaking in its verbal dexterity and wit. When it’s done right, it’s the freshest, funniest comedy you’ve ever heard.”
