K of C cosponsors substance-abuse awareness poster contest

— The Vergennes Knights of Columbus and the Vergennes Community Action Group are sponsoring its Substance Abuse Awareness Poster Contest for children from age 8 to 14.

The goal of this educational art contest is to allow young people the opportunity to develop their own solutions to challenges they face.

After Judging they will be displayed on a rotation at the local elementary Schools. First place winners in each class will receive a $50 savings certificate and a gift cerificate for Pizza at Louigiā€™s or a Party Platter from Subway in Vergennes.

Winners will be entered in the state competition and state winners will compete in the international K of C contest.

Applications and information may be acquired at Ferrisburgh Central School, Vergennes Union Elementary, Addison Elementary and the Champlain Valley Christian School.
