— Strong, damaging winds causing power outages are affecting Addison and Rutland counties. Fire and ambulance crews are busy with downed trees on roadways and some houses have sustained damage. However, no reports of serious injuries or deaths have been made public at this time.

The National Weather Service reports that the wind warning will continue to 7 p.m. Dec. 21 for the region. The giant winter storm, which brought heavy snow to some sections of the nation, stretches from the Midwest to the East Coast.

Winds gusts up to 65 mph are buffeting vehicles including low cars and high-profile truck rigs. More than 5,000 customers are with out power in this area.
