— Local photographers had an opportunity to achieve some glory thanks to a photo contest sponsored by the Addison County Chamber of Commerce. The contest received a lot of attention with many submissions from members. Only a few made it to the final judging, according to Sue Hoxie of the chamber.

“There were many great submissions for Andy’s fall photo contest and you’ll see many of the images in our publications over the next year,” Hoxie reported. “Thanks to everyone who submitted an image or two.”

According to Hoxie, the top winner of the contest was Nancy Merolle.

Merolle received a $100 local restaurant gift certificate. Her image of Lake Champlain rowers impressed the judges. Merolle is a member of the Middlebury Community House Board of Directors.

The contest’s runner up was David Bennett of Autumn Gold in downtown Middlebury. Bennett’s eyecatching view is a landscape photograph taken in Shoreham recently.
