Middlebury's Maple Run race gets a new sponsor

— Middlebury's 13-mile-long annual Maple Run footrace has a new sponsor—Ingrid Punderson Jackson Real Estate. The Middlebury realtor just committed to become the race’s title sponsor.

Scheduled for Sunday, May 6, at 9 a.m., the Middlebury Maple Run is becoming one of New England’s “must-do” races. Organizers hope to attract at least 1,000 runners for this year’s event.

"The realtor has chosen to donate locally and benefit several Addison County non-profits,” according to Andrea Solomon, the race's co-director. "The proceeds from 2011’s Middlebury Maple Run were donated to several worthwhile charities."

A total of $12,000 was distributed among one national charity, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and several Addison County-based charities including H.O.P.E., United Way of Addison County, Helen Porter Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, Girls on the Run, and Open Door Clinic. This year, the Addison County Humane Society will be added to the list of recipients.
