Rutland Economic Development Corp. celebrates 75 years

— Rutland Economic Development Corporation’s (REDC) 75th Anniversary Gala Celebration was held at the Holiday Inn Rutland.

The event was a celebration of REDC’s past and a look to its future. Cocktails, dinner and special recognitions were the order of the night. The evening concluded with dancing to local jazz-rock band Satin and Steel.

REDC awarded its Member of the Year to G.E. Aviation.

“In recognition of our 75th Anniversary, REDC has chosen to honor General Electric’s contributions to our regional economy since moving to Rutland in the ‘50s”, said Jamie Stewart, REDC’s executive director. “The company has been, and continues to be, a key to this region’s success. And as REDC celebrates our anniversary, we want to acknowledge the importance of the role GE has played in the economic vitality of Rutland County.”
