— Middlebury’s Marshall Eddy has been a prolific performer over the years.

People are still talking about his Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, although he performed the role with the Middlebury Community Players several decades ago. He has been a soloist with the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and has performed with Opera Company of Middlebury. For a day job he is a popular art teacher at Middlebury Union High School.

To benefit Town Hall Theater, Eddy will read Dylan Thomas’ beloved Christmas classic, "A Child’s Christmas in Wales", on Sunday, Dec. 2, assisted by his grandson. This intimate event will feature food and drink of the season, and will be held in the home of

Jane and Marshall Eddy, the renovation of which has been a labor of love for many years. Singers from the Maiden Vermont chorus will be on hand to musically set the stage for the traditional story. The event promises the charm of old Wales and a warm, lovely start to the Christmas season.

A Child’s Christmas in Wales begins at 4 pm on Sunday, Dec. 2. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased at www.townhalltheater.org, 388-9222, or at the THT Box Office (Monday-Sunday, noon-5 p.m.).
