— The Mount Holly Town Library in Belmont and the Book Nook bookshop will host an author event with novelist Jon Clinch on Sunday, Feb. 17, at 4 p.m., at the Mt. Holly Town Library.

Clinch’s first book, “Finn”, was named an American Library Association Notable Book and was shortlisted for the National Book Critics Circle's first-ever Best Recommended List. Finn was also recognized in many national publications as the best book of 2007.

Clinch's second novel, Kings of the Earth, published by Random House in 2010 also received wide acclaim and was touted in Oprah magazine.

Clinch’s newest book, “The Thief of Auschwitz”, is self-published. Vermont author Howard Frank Mosher said of Clinch’s book, “It’s a stunning portrait of how love of family, of freedom, and of art can triumph over pure, relentless evil. For my money, it's the best and most powerful work of fiction ever written about the Holocaust.”

The Mt. Holly Town Library is located at 26 Maple Hill Rd. in Belmont. Clinch will also sign copies of his books at the Book Nook, at 136 Main St. in Ludlow Saturday, Feb. 16, 2 p.m.-4 p.m.
