Montpelier — U.S. Rep. Peter Welch (D) stood alongside Don Vickers, president and CEO of VSAC, and college student Ethan Lee, a resident of Lincoln, at an in-state news conference last week. Welch announced his legislation to simplify the process of applying for financial aid. “Students and families face enough barriers when trying to piece together the finances to pay for higher education. Struggling to fill out onerous and unnecessary financial aid paperwork shouldn't be one of them," Welch said.
