Joe and Peter Giancola stand next to PEGTV building committee members Tom Pour, President Carl Anderson, Tom Hurcomb and PEGTV Executive Director Mike Valentine as they get ready to break ground on a new addition to their Rutland headquarters located in the Howe Center. PEGTV recently signed a new 10-year lease with the Giancola family, owners of the complex.
Rutland Community television in Rutland County received a big shot-in-the-arm last week. PEGTV broke ground on a state-of-the-art, 1,500 square foot addition. The annex will be part of PEGTV’s Howe Center studio and operations headquarters. The studio is located in building 24.
According to Stacy Kent, PEGTV’s marketing and outreach coordinator, “the addition will provide for new office space, storage and a garage for the PEGTV van.”
PEGTV signed a new 10-year lease on the soon-to-be expanded facility.
“The Giancola family, owners of the complex, is facilitating construction,” according to Kent. “Upon completion of construction, scheduled for spring 2013, PEGTV will invite the public to an open house.”
“The terms of this lease assures that Rutland County’s information stations can continue to grow and serve Rutland County for many years to come,” said PEGTV’s Board President Carl Anderson.
PEGTV is made up Rutland County’s three public-access channels—channels 15, 20 and 21. Typically, only cable-television paid subscribers have access to the channels. However, Internet streaming of PEGTV programming is available online at www.pegtv.com.
