— Keith Mazzaroni of Pittsford (left), with family and friends, is the proud owner of a “new” 1951 Korean War-era Dodge M37 3/4-ton, 4X4 six-cylinder cargo truck. He paid under $4,000 for the vehicle at a U.S. Government auction held in northern Vermont recently.

In total, between 1951 and 1968, 115,000 M37s were produced. Many M37s were transferred to civilian agencies; a handful are still in use today in Vermont as F.D. brush-fire trucks and U.S. Forest Service vehicles.

“They don’t make ‘em like they used to,” Mazzaroni said.
