Middlebury CCV director retiring in June

— CCV President Joyce Judy announced Feb. 5 that college adminsitrator Dee Steffan is retiring.

Judy said Steffan will move on from her position as CCV’s executive director at academic centers in Middlebury, St. Albans, and Winooski at the end of June.

Steffan’s 30-year-long career parallels CCV’s institutional development, from her early days as a young maverick coordinator during the two-year college’s youth, through its growth and expansion, to a more complex and impactful college.

“Dee still brings that youthful energy to her work every day, with wisdom gained through experience,” said Judy. “CCV is a stronger college because of Dee’s impressive good judgment over the years. Whenever faced with difficult decisions, Dee has been a model for how to be thoughtful and fair, how to know when to conform and when to stand apart. Dee has guided dozens of new staff members in their careers, and she worked closely with Elmer Kimball in managing our academic center expansion and transition.”
