Governor’s tree tapping to kick off maple time in Vermont

On Feb. 27, Gov. Peter Shumlin (D) will tap a sugar maple tree on the lawn of the Vermont State House, celebrating the start of the maple sugaring season in Vermont. Officials from the Vermont Maple Sugar Makers’ Association and Washington County Maple Sugar Makers’ Association said the public is invited to celebrate the start of mample season in Vermont.
